Upper Key Stage 2 have been learning about Indonesia, publishing World War One poems, making poppy prints and filming their own news reports.

Upper Key Stage 2 have had a busy and productive fortnight.

Redwood Class have been learning the features of explanation texts and solving multi-step addition and subtraction problems. In Science, they looked at how to keep our hearts healthy through exercise, a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle choices. In Geography, they have been learning about the wonders of Indonesia and the Pacific Ring of Fire, and in Computing they recorded their news reports.

Spruce Class have published their fantastic World War One poems. In History, they learned about trenches and what life was like for soldiers, which has led into a new English unit on trench diaries.

Willow Class have written newspaper reports based on their class text, Letters from the Lighthouse, and tackled long multiplication and long division with plenty of resilience. In History, they explored what life was like for evacuees and even discovered a first-hand account of an evacuee who came to Felsted! They turned their poppy sketches into prints in Art, and have started filming news reports in iMovie, ready to add green screen recordings.
