Having a Child Protection Policy in place ensures that all members of the school community:
Are aware of their responsibility in relation to safeguarding and child protection
Know the procedures that should be followed if they have a cause for concern
Know where to go to find additional information regarding safeguarding
Are aware of the key indicators relating to child abuse
Fully support the academy's commitment to safeguarding and child protection

NSPCC sexual abuse in education helpline. If you are worried about any form of sexual abuse in schools or have experienced sexual abuse previously, this helpline can offer support.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child or young person's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child or young person's welfare.
If you have any concerns about a child or young person's welfare, please record your concern and report this to one of the academy's safeguarding team as soon as possible on the same day. It is important that you do not conduct your own investigation.
If your concerns relate to the behaviour or actions of a member of staff, then you should report this directly to the Safeguarding Link Governor.
The Flitch Green Academy fully complies with information legislation. For the full details on how we use your personal information please see the documents below or call the school office on 01371 822330 if you are unable to access these on the internet.
